Bargains and beers for a great cause

As most of you know, I’m riding again in the Bike MS: The Citrus Tour this year, and have a couple of easy ways for you to contribute this month if you are in the Central Florida area. The best part is, you get something out of these as well beyond good karma and my everlasting gratitude.

First up, the spring version of our big community yard sale is happening this Saturday, March 2, starting at 8:00 AM (though we are usually set up early and a lot of the bargain hunters are making the rounds at the crack of dawn). We are participating and again donating the proceeds of our sale to the National MS Society through the ride. We’ve got lots of fantastic stuff for you to acquire at bargain prices, including a leather couch, furniture, men’s and women’s clothes (Mrs. Lo doesn’t skimp on clothes, so there’s some serious deals to be had there), DVDs, games, CDs, and tons of boys clothes, games, and toys. As an added treat, Mrs. Lo is breaking out her top shelf baking skills and providing fodder for a bake sale that the Lo lads will be manning. Hope to see some of you there, if you want directions to our sale just let me know and I’ll send to you privately. Otherwise, here’s a map of the entire community sale for your bargain hunting pleasure. It’ll be fun, you can pretend you’re on one of those reality shows where people buy things for a quarter and find out that they are worth thousands.

Our second event is taking place on Monday, March 11, at the Winter Park Mellow Mushroom, who have gracious agreed to host another fundraiser for me. From 5:00 to 9:00, simply tell your server that you are there for the MS fundraiser, order all kinds of delicious pizza, salads, calzones, sandwiches, and beverages (I’ve heard a rumor that they have good beer), and 15% of your total check will be donated to the National MS Society. How cool and easy is that? More on this one next week, but again, hope to see some of you there. If you stop by and say hi I’ll probably buy you a beverage of your choice as a thank you. What can I say, it’s just the kind of guy I am.

Many thanks to the fine folks at Mellow for hosting this fundraiser. You guys rock.

So there’s a couple of easy ways for your to donate to a great cause and score some great bargains and tasty grub at the same time. Want to donate but can’t make either event? You can always contribute online by clicking the donate link at the top right of this page (or click here.) As always, many thanks for all of your support and encouragement. It is certainly most appreciated.

Cheers.
